Kristina fell in love with paper over twenty years ago. After graduating high school in Missouri, she moved in with five roommates to an apartment in Provo, Utah. In an effort to spruce up the white walls of their living room, a few of the roomies visited their local craft store. It was on this outing that Kristina saw her first scrapbook. It was filled with fluorescent card stock, 1-dimensional stickers, photos and journaling. She loved the idea of preserving the fun times that she was experiencing with her roommates in a college town, far from home.
After marriage and birth of her first son, she had all new reasons to document the milestones and details of everyday life. Scrapbooking was also a great way to get out of the house now and again to participate in classes and crops at her local scrapbook store, Pebbles in my Pocket. One evening at a crop she learned of a contest that the store was having. She submitted a layout to be considered for the prize of a store gift certificate. Instead of earning the gift certificate (she didn't win the contest) she was offered a position on the Design Team of the Pebbles magazine publication.
Since that time Kristina has enjoyed work as a published contributor, class instructor, and creative director. She is a partner in the scrapbook company, Heartstring Designs and continues work designing monthly kits that are purchased by loyal subscribers. She is excited to begin a new opportunity working with My Craft Channel designing product samples and presenting her love to craft.
Kristina enjoys the opportunity to sit down at her table with full sheets of paper, a few ideas and an open mind. She feels that the capacity to create lies within each individual and gets great satisfaction helping others access their unique abilities.
Kristina lives with her husband, Alan and their three children; Alan Jr., Rebekah and Grant in Orem, Utah. Her family continues to give her lots of reasons and inspiration to explore her creativity as she scrapbooks, decorates and celebrates a happy life.
Beautiful work!
