Welcome Team Member Kristina Williams

Many of you may have noticed a new face appearing on My Craft Channel this week. We are so excited to welcome the very talented Kristina Williams to our team. She designs a lot of the beautiful projects you see during our Featured Buy projects. And we asked her to tell us a little more about herself so you could get to know why we are very excited to have her join us.

Kristina fell in love with paper over twenty years ago. After graduating high school in Missouri, she moved in with five roommates to an apartment in Provo, Utah. In an effort to spruce up the white walls of their living room, a few of the roomies visited their local craft store. It was on this outing that Kristina saw her first scrapbook. It was filled with fluorescent card stock, 1-dimensional stickers, photos and journaling. She loved the idea of preserving the fun times that she was experiencing with her roommates in a college town, far from home.

After marriage and birth of her first son, she had all new reasons to document the milestones and details of everyday life. Scrapbooking was also a great way to get out of the house now and again to participate in classes and crops at her local scrapbook store, Pebbles in my Pocket. One evening at a crop she learned of a contest that the store was having. She submitted a layout to be considered for the prize of a store gift certificate. Instead of earning the gift certificate (she didn't win the contest) she was offered a position on the Design Team of the Pebbles magazine publication.

Since that time Kristina has enjoyed work as a published contributor, class instructor, and creative director. She is a partner in the scrapbook company, Heartstring Designs and continues work designing monthly kits that are purchased by loyal subscribers. She is excited to begin a new opportunity working with My Craft Channel designing product samples and presenting her love to craft.

Kristina enjoys the opportunity to sit down at her table with full sheets of paper, a few ideas and an open mind. She feels that the capacity to create lies within each individual and gets great satisfaction helping others access their unique abilities.

Kristina lives with her husband, Alan and their three children; Alan Jr., Rebekah and Grant in Orem, Utah. Her family continues to give her lots of reasons and inspiration to explore her creativity as she scrapbooks, decorates and celebrates a happy life.

Host Happenings: Teen Craft Connection Trio

We are thrilled to have another one of our new Summer Season hosts to introduce you to today. You have seen them popping up in their new Promo video and we're excited to introduce the trio of Teen Craft Connection. So let's tell you a little more about these fun teens...

And after you read this post, be sure to view their awesome website Teen Craft Connection.

DeAnna Evans

Yeah, well ... I'm DeAnna, I love to challenge myself with extreme sports  or things that are out of the ordinary. I'm up for trying all kinds of sports, I really enjoy longboarding, water/snow ski or board, hiking, rock climbing and trampoline acrobatics. Once in a while, I like to settle down to access my creative side and use crafting as a form of relaxation therapy. I also love tracking and watching the newest trends, along with finding new aromas and fragrances that smell nice. I currently work at a Megaplex movie theater, after I graduate HS, I plan on pursuing a career in the medical field, preferably to become a family physician.

Sierra Evans

I love to craft, coming up with creative ideas, being me, sitting down to create clever and cool projects with my BFF Cami and being outdoors. I consider myself to be a very natural and outgoing girl. My hobbies are long boarding, riding my bike, swimming and tumbling. I love the beach, sun and anything to do with the ocean, i.e. surfing, California, Florida & Hawaii, etc. My best friends are Cami and my cuz'n Lauren, whom I love to shop with and coordinate style, fashion and clothes. I would like to become an interior designer and architect when I'm older.

Cami Wakefield

Hi, I'm Camille, Cami for short. I think one word that would describe me is unique. I have alot of different sides to my personality. I love gymnastics, and the beach. I have played the violin since I was in first grade, I love scary movies, and my favorite color is gray. I also love fashion and being creative.  My favorite band is One Direction  and my favorite place is New York. I hope I can live there someday and go to Parsons School of Design.  I love makeup, painting, and singing (even if I'm not good at it).   Crafting lets me express my creative side. I think that blogs are a good idea because people can share great ideas and be creative together. Books & Crafts with Ella Publishing Co.
Featuring Angie Lucas & Wendy Smedley
Are you a reader who loves to craft? Or a crafter who loves to read? Either or, one or both, you'll have a home at the Books & Crafts show with Angie Lucas and Wendy Smedley. Join us for weekly creative projects and book reviews that revolve around the written word. You'll love the crafts we make for, because of, inspired by, or literally out of actual books. And listen in as we share the books that inspire us to create and live, live and create. We'll discuss books and eBooks that are related to creativity, writing, scrapbooking, crafting, photography, design, style, diy, decor, and more. Even fiction may find its way into our show, if it inspires us to make something pretty.

Angie Lucas, founder, president, and CEO
Prior to founding Ella Publishing Co., Angie spent 5 years as the managing editor of Simple Scrapbooks, a leading scrapbooking magazine, where she did extensive writing and ghost-writing, along with planning and carefully editing every issue and special issue. A graduate of Utah State University's professional writing program, Angie has actually been using her degree in her career as a professional writer and editor for the past 12 years. She's been a scrapbooker for even longer than that (but she's not about to show you her earliest pages). Angie takes a simple approach to her memory keeping, having cast aside any arbitrary rules about how, when, and what to scrapbook years ago. Angie lives in Utah with her husband, infant daughter, 16-year-old stepson, and spoiled dog. She enjoys writing, reading, crafting, running (on and off), playing the piano, singing, and volunteering at her church. She has co-authored two eBooks for Ella Publishing Co., Quick & Creative Quizzes and Journaling That Matters. Follow her on Facebook (Angie Hill Lucas) andTwitter (@angielucas), or visit her blog at angielucas.com.

Wendy Smedley, deputy editor, blog manager, and creative goddess

Ella's biggest cheerleader from day one, Wendy Smedley officially joined the team just a few months after the official site launch. Prior to joining Ella Publishing Co. as a partner, Wendy spent 7 years working as the creative editor at Simple Scrapbooks magazine. She's the author of three books, Start Scrapbooking: Your essential guide to recording memories(Memory Makers, 2010), The Organized & Inspired Scrapbooker, with Aby Garvey (Simple Scrapbooks, 2006), and The Complete Idiot's Guide to Scrapbooking(Alpha Books, 2002). She also co-authored an Ella eBook, Quick & Creative Quizzes, with Angie Lucas. Wendy also works for Big Picture Classes in a marketing capacity as well as teaching occasional workshops. Wendy lives in Utah with her husband and five sons (including one set of twins). She enjoys reading, crafting, antiquing, and trend-spotting, and she's a frequent guest on a local television program, Studio5. Follow her on Facebook (Wendy Mansell Smedley) and Twitter (@wendysmedley), or visit her blog, Endless Possibilities.

Guess the Types of Crafty Shows Airing this Fall

Did we stump you yesterday?

We can't tell you who was right yesterday when you all tried putting your wicked guessing skills to work while trying to guess one of our new hosts for the Fall season. We will be unveiling our hosts beginning Monday, July 11th. You won't want to miss this because we'll also be featuring the Mother of ALL giveaways during that time.

But today, we thought we'd let you put those guessing super powers to good use and try again.  But today let's try having you guess the TYPE of shows that will be airing on My Craft Channel this fall. Here's your hints:

Hint #1 - This show features a dynamic duo that know how to bring the house down with their DIY ideas.

Hint #2 - The longtime "silversmithing" skills of one of our hosts will be put to the test for this show.

Hint #3 - You'll be seeing "double" and "sew" love that you learn during this show.

Hint #4 - Hit the start key and you may learn how to combine "technology" and pretty things.

Hint #5 - Learn how fiction and crafting come together for a great review by a cute "chicka".

Hint #6 - Learn how to "free" yourself and lose the guilt from all those "photos" you've been stashing. You will love the "simple" ideas and colorful personality of this show and it's host.

Hint #7 - She's back and ready to show you techniques that will make you "swapp" what you've been thinking was hip.

Hint #8 - "Mix" up your crafting supplies for trendy techniques in pulling them together for projects "media" would want to feature.

Hint #9 - Get great ideas on throwing a "charming" event.

Hint #10 - If you're a reader who loves to craft, or a crafter who loves to read you'll be saying "ella yes" to this show.

Today we've not only given you some great HINTS, but we've even hidden in some extra hints to help you even more. Each hint listed above is a different show...and we have even more that we didn't feature here. So be sure to come back next week to learn who is hosting some of these shows.

Leave a comment about your guess.

Good Luck!!
