It's been awhile, but I felt it was the right time to provide a little update about My Craft Channel. As most of you know this has been a deep passion of mine since the doors opened 5 years ago. With over 200,000 subscribers and a thriving business it brought me so much joy to be a part of a community with so many other people who shared the same passion that I did.
This past summer we decided to take a break. It was not planned or expected. I am an extremely private person and only a handful of people know the personal and health issues that I have been going through for the past 9 months. After one set back after another, I had to take a moment and do a "re-set" and remember why I started and how I wanted to move forward. I kept going back and forth until late this past summer when our shipping system crashed. COMPLETELY CRASHED! We did our best to recreate orders and ship out or refund the orders that were lost. (We hope we took care of all of our customers that were affected. If not, please feel free to email our customer service which will be up and running on December 5th, customerservice@mycraftchannel.com.)
Beyond personal issues, I struggled with how the craft industry was changing. So many of my favorite vendors were struggling and going out of business. It became more and more difficult to offer SPECTACULAR deals every day. That had always been my goal. New, unique, and inexpensive kits that combined education and beautiful products.
I know there has been speculation as to "where we went", "what happened". I became extremely private because to be honest, I simply did not have the answers. I knew that I wanted My Craft Channel to continue, but I also believe that things happen for a reason. For me, I've come to realize that sometimes family and health trumps everything. I have also realized that this gave me the perfect opportunity to re-set and re-launch and evolve My Craft Channel into something that was more relevant with where the craft industry is at and what the AMAZING community of crafter's that we have built are looking for.
I apologize is this comes across more personal than professional. However, this has always been a personal endeavor for me. A platform to provide crafters the stage to share their passion and educate as well as vendors to give their products a "voice". I have had overwhelming love and support and need to take a moment to thank Lori Allred for all of her help and sacrifice. I couldn't have asked for a better partner and friend. She stuck with me during the tough times and beyond. As my PR and marketing person, she begged me to put out a letter months ago. I hope you will forgive me that emotionally it has taken some time for me to know what I wanted to share.
The good news! We are relaunching some time after the first of the year. You can expect a few flash sales between now and then. In fact, look forward to our "on-line" Warehouse sale for those of you that cannot attend our Utah Warehouse Sale. We are planning on switching things up and it will be an all new "My Craft Channel". We would love to hear your feedback as to what you are looking for. I want to thank all of our amazing customer's and friends who have been patient and sent words of encouragement.
As a part of preparing for our re-launch, we are having a:
